"Hair Soap" Made Here in New Hampshire
It is very exciting to be on this journey of discovery and to learn more about all of the wonderful products out there to help us use less plastic. This company is right here in my home state of New Hampshire and they have been in business for almost 40 years! why have I never known about them? I think I attribute it to the fact that when you are unaware you can miss a lot. I remind myself to slow down and explore more.
I was in a Country store in New Hampshire on my way to visit a few friends. This was a few months ago when I had just started the Less Single-Use Plastic website/project. I stopped in and noticed J.R.LIGGETT’S bar shampoo and bar conditioner.
I had been on my plastic diet for a while but I had yet to explore too much in the way of cosmetics. I had (still have) a plastic bottle of a shampoo I like and it is natural, but I would much rather not waste the plastic so I picked up both bars to try. They are perfect! They smell nice and clean, they lather enough, but not so much that it is difficult to rinse out. My husband is also pleased. I even like the nice clean look of a bar and no bottles to bump into and tumble.
I have not traveled yet but I have thought about how easy this will be when I can just wrap it up and go and not worry about bottles spilling in my overnight bag.
I am a happy customer and so I decided to write this blog post. The first thing I did was visit the website and read about the company and then I was so amazed that this is a New Hampshire business in Cornish. I had no idea. I am so glad to learn about them and I hope you will try.
