I am a graphic designer, artist, and art teacher, compelled to use my skills to help the planet. I plan to create one design each day for 2022. These designs are for sale on organic and sustainable products to help spread awareness of our growing plastic pollution problem by reminding us that we can choose less single-use plastic.
"COLORADO" Less Single-Use Plastic Design #35: I gave myself a design challenge: How could I express the landscape or essence of a place visually with just two lines and a circle for a sun or moon? For Colorado, the lines are of the snow-covered Rocky Mountains and I choose an icy sky blue for the crisp expansiveness of the western skies.
Many towns in CO have taken the initiative to ban plastic bags, and have put a 10 cent fee on paper bags. Also, some state-wide legislature recently passed which bans plastic bags and styrofoam containers for takeout. Click here to learn more about this new legislation.
