I am a graphic designer, artist, and art teacher, compelled to use my skills to help the planet. I plan to create one design each day for 2022. These designs are for sale on organic and sustainable products to help spread awareness of our growing plastic pollution problem by reminding us that we can choose less single-use plastic.
Here is more information found on the DECNY.Gov website to learn more about the bag ban.
"On March 1, 2020, a new bag waste reduction law took effect in New York State - where over 23 billion plastic bags are typically used each year. Plastic bag usage affects both our communities and environment. Plastic bags can be seen stuck in trees, as litter in our neighborhoods, and floating in our waterways. From the significant recycling and disposal issues they pose to the harm they can do to wildlife, the negative impacts of plastic bags are easily seen."
About "NEW YORK BYOB" Design #30: On March 1 of 2020 The State of New York introduced a plastic bag ban. This design is in honor of New York for making this big, important step. I chose to use the Statue of Liberty as we try to break"free" from so much single-use plastic.
What better way could there be to spread the message of less single-use plastic than to have it plastered on your phone case? Most people carry their phones with them so the message is always there as a reminder to yourself and as a way to share with family and friends your intention to make some better choices. An eco-friendly phone case would also make a wonderful gift for someone who cares about the environment.
This biodegradable phone case is made with absolutely no plastic. you can rest assured that it won't add to the landfill because it becomes biodegradable in just 160 days! What a great new way of making phone cases!
